Toft Farm August 1st 2009
Toft Picking Up Southam’s Mark Williams, who works for Advanced Pole Fishing magazine in Daventry, is on a good run, and made it two wins on the bounce with a first place at Toft Fishery’s Carp Lake at the weekend. In windy conditions at the Dunchurch venue, Mark started on the Method feeder, bagging a fish second cast and then another dozen, before switching to the pole. He fished at 13m on peg 7, feeding micro pellet positively and fishing 4mm expander on the hook to bag another 37 fish to weigh in 18-6-0. That was too good for second man, Rugby’s Kevin Folwell, who was in the teeth of the wind and fished groundbait feeder on peg 11 for 11-10-0, with Stockton angler Dan Whitfield third with 10-6-0 from peg 4 on pole and pellet. The small carp haven’t grown much over the winter, if at all, and are still averaging 5-6oz. The match was organised by Simon Green at Banks and Burr in Rugby, tel 01788 576782 . |
